Thanks for a great workshop! I loved the venue, refreshments and lunch, and found the handouts for the sessions to be invaluable! The mix of topics complemented each other, and made me realise how much I need to step up my online game! Plus, as a direct result of Sam’s session I have been kind to myself and sorted something I had been putting off for ages, and I’m hoping this will show some benefits soon.

So, all in all, lots learnt, fun had, and highly recommended!

Charity at heart

Our members voted Leeway as our charity of the year for 2018. An optional donation can be made at each meeting, and we hope you’ll join us in raising money for this worthwhile cause.

Leeway has six safe houses and provides advice, support and information to any adult or child experiencing domestic abuse in Norfolk and Waveney. Leeway was established in 1974 with the help of a £200 start-up grant from Norwich City Council. Over the past four decades, the charity has grown from those humble beginnings and now has a team of 50 people.

Mandy Proctor, Chief Executive of Leeway Says:
“We are delighted to be chosen as Her Business Brew’s charity of the year. I would like to thank them for supporting Leeway and showing a commitment to ending domestic abuse. The money that they raise will enable us to continue to provide a high-quality service to those experiencing domestic abuse and help Leeway to continue to raise awareness of domestic abuse within the local community.”

We had Nelson’s Journey as our charity of the year for 2017. Nelson’s Journey is a charity dedicated to supporting bereaved children and young people throughout Norfolk. Based in Norwich, they were founded in 1997, and since then they have helped thousands of children between the age of 0 to 17, who have experienced the death of a significant person in their life e.g. parent or sibling.

You can find out more about what they do in this video – get your tissues ready though…
