HER Business, Body & Life Conference 2018

To celebrate International Women’s Day 2018, Her Business Brew and other Norfolk-based women’s groups will be hosting Norfolk’s largest women’s empowerment event, the HER Business, Body & Life Conference.

There will be various stands, free workshops and some fantastic speakers.

Let’s celebrate and embrace being women together!

Davina Tanner OBE – Business Speaker (Keynote)

Davina Tanner

Davina is Chief Executive of Britannia Enterprises, a social enterprise created in partnership with the Ministry of Justice and HMP Norwich. What sets Britannia Enterprises out from thousands of other social enterprises is the majority of the 30 staff employed are serving or ex offenders.

Prior to working with ex offenders and launching Britannia Enterprises, Davina held senior roles at Arcadia, Tesco’s and spent 6 years as General Manager of Chapelfield shopping centre, where she won national Centre Manager of the Year Award. In 2015 Davina was awarded an OBE in recognition of her services to businesses and the wider community in East Anglia.

We’re delighted to introduce her as our Keynote speaker at the conference.

Ursula Tavender – Body Speaker

Ursula Tavender

Ursula, blogger and writer, set up Mumbelievable in 2015 after parenthood filled her with extremes. Extreme joy, love and pride, and also extreme life adjustment, guilt and worry. She is on a mission to support and empower a million mums to rebuild their confidence and reconnect with themselves.

Ursula hopes to encourage other women to speak out about body confidence and self-esteem issues before they escalate into an illness, and will be sharing with us her experiences of the eating disorder she suffered during her pregnancy. She also contributed to our book Stories of She.

Rachel Welch – Life Speaker

Rachel Welch

Rachel, previously the Director of Self Harm UK and Founder of Freedom From Harm, will be speaking about the valuable work she does in Uganda.

Women and girls have no access to sanitary wear and are forced to spend several days each month hiding at home and using leaves to keep clean. Rachel and her team are on a mission to provide all women there with reusable sanitary towels and underwear, which will create a better quality of life for these women, helping to reduce sexual assult and discrimination, and will mean girls can attend school and female teachers can continue to teach.
